Our School Hall was transformed into a bustling marketplace as Year 11 Business Studies students put their entrepreneurial skills into action during the annual Market Day. Students planned, launched and operated their own small businesses, welcoming enthusiastic customers from Years 3 to 6 throughout the day.
Working in teams, students developed business concepts, prepared detailed business plans, managed start-up budgets and designed engaging products and activities. Market Day gave them the opportunity to apply key business concepts in a real-world setting, developing valuable skills in entrepreneurship, collaboration, problem-solving, communication and financial management.
The event was the culmination of weeks of planning and preparation, with each business carefully designed to meet assessment requirements while providing an enjoyable experience for their young customers.
Beyond the practical learning experience, the event also reflected IGS values. All profits raised will be donated to the IGS Indigenous Scholarship Fund, helping to create greater educational opportunities for future students while encouraging socially responsible and sustainable business practices.
Congratulations to our Year 11 Business Studies students on their creativity, professionalism and teamwork, and thank you to Humanities Teacher Gareth Douse for guiding students through this authentic learning experience.
