Students head to Top End for Red Earth adventure

The students were bound for remote Nitmilik and Marrakai, the homelands of Menngun and Nauiyi First Nations people.

At the start of Reconciliation Week, a third group of IGS students set off on their Red Earth Indigenous Immersion.

A group of 25 Year 10 students arrived at the airport at 4.30am ready to go!

“They are so excited after waiting a long time for this,” said Coordinator of Indigenous Partnerships/Languages Teacher Lucy Howard-Shibuya.

“A big thank you to Megan Sampson and Noah Armesto for accompanying our kids and helping make this experience happen.”

We look forward to sharing more news on their return.
