Spring Vacation Care program

Students involved in the IGS Spring Vacation Care program enjoyed many excursions and adventures, including a trip to a work farm and orchid.

Other activities students immersed themselves in during the Spring holidays included a First Australians bush walk and orienteering at Middle Head, Featherdale wildlife park and indoor rock climbing.

Students also enjoyed an array of incursions as well.

“One of our highlights was an excursion to Canoelands Orchard,” said Head of Out of School Hours Care David Engelbert.

“It is located roughly an hour away up north west of Sydney and it is a family run working farm/orchard.

“On our visit we got to tour the property via tractor, met/fed the farm animals,
learned how honey was made on the farm and picked some mandarines.”

We will definitely be back in the summer to pick the summer fruits to take home! Our children got to experience what High School life will be like at IGS and used the design and technology room with Miss Vail, who is an arts teacher at IGS.

“We created wooden robots and some children said ‘we can’t wait to do woodwork in High School’.”
