Ruari: gridiron’s rising star

Year 12 student Ruari has been selected for the State Gridiron team.

Year 12 student Ruari has been selected for the NSW Wolverines team, Gridiron NSW’s U/19 representative team that competes in the National Championship.

“Making the NSW Wolverines team has been a great experience,” said Ruari.

“Training with different coaches and getting to work with more experienced players from opposing teams that I wouldn’t otherwise get the chance to work with has already improved me as a player.

Last year Ruari received the Sydney University Football Club’s 2022 Anthony Sinton Award after just five months of playing for Sydney Universities American Football club. Clearly, Ruari is a player to watch.

“Already the team atmosphere is very strong and I am just honoured to represent NSW on the gridiron. We’ll be going up against Queensland and possibly Victoria when the bowl games come up and I can’t wait.”

Well done, Rauri!
