Red Earth Ready

Students preparing for this year’s Red Earth expedition took to the barbeque earlier this week, raising over $2,000 across two sizzling days of fundraising.

A group of students and two adults stand behind barbecue grills, posing for a photo outdoors. Red Earth Ready shirts stand out as they serve sandwiches, with barbecue supplies on the table in front and trees and fences in the background.

The event, supported generously by the broader School community, saw the Canteen supply sausages while students from across the School turned out in force – many returning for seconds in the name of a good cause. The funds will go directly towards supporting the group’s hands-on community project work alongside remote Indigenous communities on Country.

With more fundraising still to come, the Red Earth team will be hosting a bake sale on Monday 15 June – out the front of School from 7:30am and again during recess..

The Red Earth cohort departs Thursday 2 July, ready to learn, connect and contribute meaningfully alongside local communities in a project that has become a highlight of the School calendar.

Thank you to everyone who fired up their appetites for a great cause, including Head of Indigenous Education Jade Carr and the teachers who organised the event.
