As part of the IGS Wide Reading Program, students in Years 7 to 9 have been visiting our local independent bookstore Gleebooks throughout June to explore new books and foster a lifelong love of reading.
During the excursion, students have the opportunity to browse the extensive collection and select a book for their personal reading, which they will enjoy during their regular Wide Reading lessons in the Bibliothèque.
Last week, Year 7 Gura visited Gleebooks and embraced the opportunity to discover new stories and authors. Students explored a wide range of genres, selecting everything from novels and science fiction to anime and health.
The visit encouraged students to follow their interests, expand their reading horizons and engage with literature in a meaningful and personal way.
A special thank you to Patrice Marchbank Director of the Bibliothèque for creating opportunities that inspire students to develop positive reading habits and a love of books.
