Year 8 take Pop Art on board

The Year 8 Visual Arts class recently enjoyed creating their own custom Pop Art skateboard decks.

“Our Year 8 Visual Artists have been very busy exploring the influential Pop Art movement in recent months. Each student created a unique design for their individual skateboard decks and were inspired by artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, among others”, Director of Art and Design Drew Bickford said.

“The bright and colourful artworks reflected many of the stylistic qualities of Pop art and students incorporated images, symbols and text from all areas of popular culture.

“This was an exciting and creative artmaking adventure and students all got to leave with their very own skateboard deck!”
