IGS Class of 2021 graduate Therese Briganti has achieved an ATAR of 99.95, the highest result possible.

Therese, who topped two HSC courses (read more here), achieved 100 per cent for French Beginners and 99 per cent for Chinese Continuers and takes her place on the prestigious HSC All-Rounder list for the highest possible band in 10 units.

Therese said said she could not be more grateful to her IGS teachers.

“This would not have happened without my teachers,” Therese said.

“I really can’t imagine how taxing it is to take on an HSC class, let alone during lockdown.

“I am in awe of how generous the were with their time, not just in terms of motivating me to improve and strive to do my best.

“They also listened to my concerns and gave me advice. I could email them and they’d put my mind at rest.

“I am so grateful to my teachers. They really went above and beyond.

“If I were to give advice to some younger students, I want to highlight that while I was doing Year 11 and Year 12 I never thought I’d get an ATAR this high.

“I’d get an exam mark I didn’t think was ideal, but in retrospect I am really happy about that.

“All those mistakes you make, you are never going to make again.

“Don’t just give up. Take a bit of a break, and keep things in perspective.”
