It has been a big fortnight in Primary sport, with students representing the School at State level, competing for House pride, and taking important steps along representative sporting pathways. From outstanding performances in the pool and on the water, to determination on the cross country course and strong showings at soccer trials, our Primary students continue to demonstrate skill, resilience and School spirit across a range of sports.
Swimming
Outstanding achievement for Year 6 student Filippa V, who represented IGS at the NSW State Swimming Championships last week.
Filippa placed 5th in the State for her age group in the 50m Freestyle and recorded a personal best time of 29.55 seconds — a fantastic result at this level of competition. Congratulations, Filippa!

Cross Country
Grit, determination and strong School spirit as Years 3 to 6 ran for House points and fun at Cross Country Carnival. Thanks to the Primary School PDHPE team for another excellent event!

ASISSA Soccer Trials
Four IGS students headed to Hensley Athletic Field recently to compete in the ASISSA soccer trials, taking an important step along the pathway to CIS and PSSA representation.
Charlotte H, Liam K, Hudson W and Lucas G all showed great passion and perseverance on the day and each should be proud of their personal effort and achievement. A special mention to Charlotte H for being selected into the Girls ASISSA Squad for NSWCIS Championships – a significant achievement given the high standard of competition across the board.
Congratulations to all four students on representing IGS so well!

Year 5 and 6 Sport – Interschools Competition
The Term 2 interschool soccer tournament has begun. Students from years 5 and 6 travel to Queens Park each week to compete against other ASISSA Schools. IGS have had a strong start to the tournament with wins across the board and all 8 teams showing grit, determination and a strong sense of teamwork and belonging wearing the IGS uniform with pride.
