With cross country season in full swing and our Interschools teams taking to the field each Thursday, it has been a busy term of primary sport at IGS.
ASISSA Cross Country
Our students demonstrated outstanding determination, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the day. Many students ran tactical races, showing that their hard work and dedication in their training had truly paid off. A special mention goes to Andia B-V, who ran an outstanding race to place 1st in the Under 10 age group. It was wonderful to see so many IGS students achieve impressive results, with numerous runners placing in the top 10 and qualifying for the CIS Cross Country Championships at Horsley Park Equestrian Centre on Thursday 25th June.
One of the highlights of the day was the incredible support students showed one another, particularly along the home stretch of the course. The encouragement, teamwork, and school spirit displayed by all competitors was outstanding and reflected the strong sense of community within IGS.
A special congratulations and thank you to all IGS students who competed with grit, determination, and pride. We wish the following students the very best of luck as they prepare to compete at CIS:
Isaac C, Grace I, Andia B-V, Marlowe C, Elliott E, William A-H, James K, Liam K, and Arlo F
New Kit for Interschools
We are excited to share the first photos of our Year 5 and 6 Interschools teams proudly wearing our new IGS playing strip. The new shirts will be worn by students representing IGS in the ASISSA Interschools Competition each Thursday throughout the year.
This term, our teams have been competing in soccer at Queens Park, showcasing great teamwork, sportsmanship and school spirit. In Term 3, our students will continue their sporting journey with netball at Heffron Park and touch football at Chifley Sports Reserve.
If you see any students proudly wearing the new kit around on a Thursday, please wish them the very best of luck as they represent IGS in their respective sports. We look forward to following their achievements throughout the season!
