A Warm Kindergarten Welcome

This week, we were delighted to welcome current Early Learning families and prospective families to our Kindergarten Open Morning, hosted by Sarah Herbert Deputy Principal Junior School and Erin Reedy Head of Kindergarten to Year 2. A group of our Year 6 leaders escorted families through our beautiful Kindergarten spaces where they met the passionate educators who support our young learners.

A group of adults and children sit in a colourful nursery classroom, facing a speaker at the front. The walls are decorated with educational posters and artwork, and the atmosphere appears lively and engaged, offering a warm welcome to all attendees.

Children enjoyed outdoor play, with indoor activities also available. The program included a reading session led by teachers using the text of the day to encourage participation and confident speaking, a language experience with our Japanese and Italian teachers and a joyful music session featuring the Good Morning song in different languages, along with movement, dancing and singing. Families also gathered for morning tea in the Kindergarten Centre, where craft and play experiences for the children happened simultaneously.

Our Open Mornings offer an immersive experience, giving families insight into how IGS nurtures curiosity, confidence and a love of learning from the very first day of School.

If you know someone considering enrolling their child in Kindergarten in 2027 or 2028 encourage them to get in touch with our admissions team for more information about upcoming Open Mornings.
