What a day for our Year 3–6 Athletics Carnival! The weather was lovely and students spent the day leaping and racing around the track, each javelin throw, shotput and photo finish met with cheers from their peers.

With 364 students competing across nine different track and field events, the day was filled with opportunities for students to demonstrate perseverance and determination. Throughout the day, every student represented their house with pride, enthusiasm and enjoyment, encouraging teammates and celebrating each other’s achievements.
One of the highlights of the day was our King and Queen of the Track, with our two Year 6 students showing incredible determination to come from behind and take the crowns. Congratulations to Nonnika and Owynn.
The final races of the day saw our House Relays bring everyone together, with students showcasing teamwork, speed and plenty of house spirit. It was the perfect way to round out a wonderful day of competition and celebration.
A big thank you to all the teachers who stepped up and helped out on the day and a special thank you to Lucy Haynes Head of Primary PDHPE and the whole Primary PDHPE team for making the day such a success.
A special mention goes to the Parents and Carers Association who organised a coffee stand for the day. It proved a booming success with staff and parents alike and we thank them for their efforts in keeping everyone fuelled and connected throughout the carnival.
We look forward to congratulating our Age Champions and House Shield winners at next week’s assembly. Well done to all our students on their effort and team spirit, we are looking forward to the next carnival already!
