Resilience and flair in Theatresports

A huge congratulations to our IGS Junior High School Theatresports Team who have made it through to the second round of the inaugural Schools Challenge.

Well done to the team, made up of Year 8 students, Margot Morton, Gretel Deutsch, Zainab Moloobhoy, as well as Year 7 students Claudine Griffith and Matilda Benedictus.

“The team has worked hard all year and has finally had their opportunity to shine as they competed against other schools last Friday night at Sydney Girls’ High,” said Director of Dramatic Arts Rita Morabito.

“They will now proceed to the next round of the competition. Well done!”

Their coach, IGS Alum Lukian Adams (2018) said he couldn’t be more proud of the students, who have now successfully made it through to the second round in their campaign.

“Despite a rocky start in Round 1, where they were picked as the first team to get up on stage, they managed to improve on their scores in every round, getting the highest score of the night in the final round,” Lukian said.

“They showed resilience, teamwork, and most importantly dramatic flair to clinch a second-place finish, and they should all be extremely proud of their achievements.

“They are now in good stead to be the second IGS team to make it into the Grand Final this year, so let’s all wish them good luck!”
