Celebrating OOSH Educators

We celebrated OOSH Educators Day on Wednesday 27 July 2023.

National OOSH Educators Day is an important day because it provides an annual opportunity to recognise the work OOSH Educators do in their communities every day — helping children to grow and thrive in their time out of school.

This year the theme for OOSH Educators day was ‘OOSH Educators: At the Heart of the Community.’  Building community engagement is about developing relationships, working together, promoting communication, sharing, co-operating and interacting with others.

At IGS, the OOSH Educators celebrated with an afternoon tea and the children participated in various OOSH Educator appreciation activities.

Head of Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) David Engelbert said “I am so grateful to have such a wonderful team of educators who care so much for the children they work with. Many of our Educators are IGS alumni and feel a deep connection with the school community”.

“Our Educators work tirelessly to create a positive and nurturing environment for the children,” said Deputy Principal Wellbeing Mary Duma.

Thank you OOSH Educators — we love your work!
