Celebrating a Successful Term of Sport

Students, staff and families came together last Friday for the K–6 Sports Assembly, recognising the many achievements, milestones and sporting highlights from across Term 2.

The assembly celebrated the determination, perseverance and sportsmanship demonstrated by students throughout the term, whether competing in events, training with teammates, supporting others or embracing new challenges.

The assembly recognised students who represented IGS at the ASISSA Cross Country Championships and will now progress to the NSWCIS Cross Country Championships. Their selection is a testament to their hard work, resilience and commitment to their sport.

Congratulations were also extended to students who represented IGS at the ASISSA Soccer Trials. A special acknowledgement was given to Year 6 Charlie H, who was selected for the ASISSA Girls Soccer Team and went on to compete at the NSWCIS Championships.

Looking ahead, several students were recognised as they prepare to represent IGS at the Sydney Schools Snowsports Championships in Perisher during the upcoming holidays. We wish them every success on the slopes and look forward to hearing about their experiences when they return.

Thank you to all students who participated in sport throughout Term 2. Your enthusiasm, effort and willingness to challenge yourselves have helped make it a fantastic term of sport at IGS. We look forward to seeing students continue to strive and support one another as preparations begin for the Athletics Carnivals in Term 3.

Thank you to the PDHPE team for their ongoing dedication and support throughout the term. Their organisation and encouragement have helped make Term 2 a successful and enjoyable sporting season for our students.
