Year 9 students get down to business

Year 9 Commerce students recently presented Young Enterprise Day.

Formany months, as part of their Stage 5 Commerce course, students worked to create a business.

They came up with ideas for a business, created a business plan, pitched their ideas and finally, as a culmination of their efforts in creating their own businesses this year, they ran market stalls to sell their goods and services on the West Roof.

“Students from Year 6 to Year 11 were brought up during class time to make purchases from the stalls,” said Assistant Head of Humanities Danielle Wong.

“Each business has also been advised that they are to donate 10 per cent of their profits to a charity.

“The students worked very hard to put their entrepreneurial skills to good use! Special thanks to Gareth Douse for his efforts in organising the event.

“Thanks also to Ms Cao, Mr Galea, Mr Armesto and Mr Mueller who also helped out at a stall where students paid to throw water balloons at teachers.”
