Year 11 students visit Long Reef

Students spent the day studying nature.

Year 11 Biology investigated ecosystem dynamics on a perfect sunny autumn day at Long Reef.

The rock platform is a beautiful location to study the relationships between marine plants and animals.

“When the tide retreats a secret world of marine ecosystems opens up with clusters of mini aquariums, seething with tiny creatures,” according to the Northern Beaches Council.

During this visit, students were lucky enough to see toadfish, sea snails, oysters and the beautiful red waratah anemone.
