Touch football fervour

IGS was proudly represented at CDSSA Touch Football this term!

Touch football fervour has recently taken hold at IGS with over 40 students venturing to Centennial Park to trial for the CDSSA Touch Football Team, representing IGS at an Interschool Competition.

Throughout the day the students played other school teams, displaying great skill, teamwork, camaraderie and sportsmanship.

“I love seeing our students back themselves, be tested and see what they are capable of,” said sports teacher and Head of Year 11 Lawrance Hunting.

“Congratulations to Marli and Millie for their selection in the CDSSA team and to all the students for their effort on the day!” said Mr Hunting.

Millie and Marli have gone on to play on a team with students from other co-educational independent schools including Pittwater House, Reddam and Emanuel School.

Millie has gone on to compete with great success in the U15 CDSSA team at the AICES Gala Day, narrowly missing out on the championship title against the HRIS (Hunter Region Independent Schools) team based on for and against differentials.

Congratulations, Millie! We are so proud of you!
