The Sound of Success

IGS Piano Competition 2026

Outstanding musicianship, dedication and performance confidence were on display at the 2026 IGS Piano Competition, as talented pianists from Years 3–12 took to the stage in Soundspace for one of the Music Department’s most anticipated annual events.

Seventeen finalists performed two contrasting works from memory, presenting a diverse repertoire that showcased their technical skill, musical understanding and individual artistry. From emerging young performers to accomplished senior musicians, each student demonstrated the countless hours of preparation and commitment required to perform at such a high standard.

The School was delighted to welcome acclaimed pianist and educator Hank Xiang as guest adjudicator. His thoughtful feedback and expert insights provided valuable learning opportunities for every performer, making the competition not only a celebration of achievement but also an enriching educational experience.
