‘Sink or float’ French fun

Students in Year 2 are learning about water this term.

“In French class this week we have been learning about objects that can float or sink,” said year 2 French teacher Marianne Alla.

“This science experiment encourages children to make predictions and observations about buoyancy and how and why some objects will sink or float when placed in the water.

“After learning a range of new vocabulary in French, Year 2 students were first asked to predict what a list of objects would do, then in two groups, they tried placing objects in a container full of water.

“The children were very enthusiastic, and laughter and giggles were heard as the actions met or not their prediction. A fun way to practise our French!”
