IGS Welcomes new music staff

The IGS Music Department is thrilled to welcome two new staff members!

It’s exciting times on Level 3 as the IGS Music Department goes from strength to strength, building the school’s music program and welcoming new staff to expand opportunities for our students!

New Role: IGS Residential Artist | Encompassing the role of Piano Accompanist and Instrumental Piano Teacher

The School has announced a new role, the IGS Residential Artist. We are excited to have appointed one of our current Music Tutors, Mr. Joshua Cheng, as the inaugural Residential Artist.

Joshua is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium and was mentored by Paul Rickard-Ford, Chair of the Keyboard Unit. He embarks on this new role with a passion for piano pedagogy and outstanding expertise in chamber music. As part of the preparations for HSC studies, Joshua will assist with the mentoring of students preparing for their performance programs and accompanying them as part of their final practical examinations. Our students here at IGS are incredibly fortunate to work alongside such a creative and talented musician!

Mr. Jarryd Scully also joins us this Term with a range of skills in music administration across various organisations such as Apple Music and extensive experience in large music departments of the Independent Schools Association.

He is a trained guitarist and has tutored students in the study of this instrument. Jarryd has a keen interest in music technology, production and event logistics. We are thrilled to have Jarryd join our team here at IGS!
