Early Learners’ green thumbs

Early Learning children have started bringing the flower beds in the Centre's garden back to life.

“We learned about and used different gardening tools like a rake, gardening fork and a little shovel,” said Early Learning Educator Giulia Schmidt.

“Gardening is an amazing and valuable activity for children where they learn to take responsibility for their environment, get curious about healthy eating and improve their fine motor skills while handling the tools and tiny seeds and seedlings.

“Our little gardeners loved the sensory exploration of scooping the soil, picking old pots and litter from the flower beds and inspecting roots from previously planted herbs.

“We gently placed the new seeds in the cold soil and are excited to see them grow over the next weeks!”
