Designing creative careers

Year 10 Design and Technology students enjoyed an inside view of international digital creative studio FutureDeluxe, as part of the IGS Creative Internships in the Pyrmont peninsula and beyond.

IGS is grateful to the team at nearby FutureDeluxe, a creative studio based in London, Los Angeles and Sydney.

“FutureDeluxe are artists, directors, designers, and creative technologists with experimentation and collaboration to create digital creations using software such as Cinema 4D and a variety of software,” said Design and Technology Teacher and Coordinator of Design Tarek Taouk.

“The studio combines new production techniques and design processes to craft unique ways of realising the unreal.

“Through design and moving image, FutureDeluxe shapes visual cultures and creates meaningful experiences for brands, agencies and screens of the future.”

The IGS creative internships are a work shadowing program detailed in the latest IGS Strategic Plan Into the World.

“Creative Director Adrian Lawrence, spoke to our year 10 Design and Technology students about the passion for research and creative development.

“He explained what they create and the process of some of the projects, such as Google Phones and McLaren car advertisements.

“Students were intrigued with the process of the development of some of the projects. Adrian gave eminent advice to our students about a future in the design industry and the level of commitment and determination it entails.

“This was a fantastic excursion that gave our young designers insight into creative careers.”
