Congratulations to Sophie Lampert

Congratulations to IGS Visual Arts Teacher Sophie Lampert who has been announced as the recipient of "The Seed" 2023 exhibition opportunity at Orange Regional Gallery.

“Sophie will develop an exhibition of large-scale sculptural works which explore the lives and atypical vocations of a number of women throughout history, whose brilliant careers in unusual fields defied both their gender and the social norms of the times,” Orange Regional Gallery said.

Sophie Lampert, with long brown hair, wearing a black dress and a blue crown, sits on a bench holding a bouquet of colourful flowers. People are gathered in the background with congratulations in the air and a red fizzy drink can beside her.

“The Seed” is a partnership between Orange Regional Gallery and @nas_au which offers recent National Art School (NAS) graduates a unique opportunity to present their first solo exhibition in a public institution.

Held annually at Orange Regional Gallery, the program provides exhibition space, curatorial support and publicity for an emerging artist.

Sophie has received a number of awards for her paintings and sculptures, including being announced as a 2022 finalist in the Tom Bass Prize for Figurative Sculpture Exhibition. Congratulations, Sophie!
