Chinese Immersion Day

Year 9 and 10 Chinese learner students had a fantastic day exploring Chinese culture and putting their language skills into practice during our Chinese Immersion Day in Chinatown.

Students began the day at the Chinese Culture Centre, where they took part in a hands-on mooncake-making workshop. They enjoyed learning about this traditional Chinese food while making their own mooncakes using ingredients such as red bean paste.

The students then headed to Chinatown for lunch, where they had the opportunity to order and purchase their food in Chinese. This was a wonderful chance for students to use the language they have been learning in class in an authentic, real-world environment.

It was a fun and engaging day, with plenty of laughter, delicious food and valuable cultural experiences. Our students returned to school with new knowledge, memorable experiences and a greater appreciation of Chinese language and culture.
