Building Skills in Nature

Year 8 Outdoor Education Camp

From Wednesday 7 to Friday 9 May, our Year 8 students immersed themselves in the great outdoors at the Tallong Outdoor Education and Retreat Centre in the Southern Highlands.

Set among the scenic bushland of Tallong, the program focused on building outdoor education skills, strengthening peer connections and developing leadership and teamwork in a supportive and challenging environment.

Students engaged in a range of adventure-based activities designed to encourage personal growth, resilience and collaboration. The camp also introduced them to the IGS Retreat concept, which they will revisit in future years as part of the School’s sequential Outdoor Education Program from Years 7 to 10.

Thank you Walid Baghdadi High School Head of PDHPE, Sport and Outdoor Education and all staff involved, and the team at Tallong for creating such a memorable experience for our students.
