Asha reflects on debating successes

The IGS Years 5 and 6 debating teams recently visited St Aloysius College for their debates on the topic that 'tests should be banned in Primary Schools'.

Asha of Year 6 Gold said the team spent many lunch times over two weeks preparing.

“On the day, our team members were incredibly excited and nervous at the same time,” Asha said.

“We participated in two debates. One IGS team was the affirmative and one was the negative.

“Each school had extremely strong speakers and well-written arguments. The adjudicator gave each team great feedback and both IGS teams won,” Asha said.

“Once the debate was over and the pressure lifted, we all ate refreshments together and had lots of fun.

“Thank you St Aloysius College for welcoming us to your school and organising an awesome debate.

“This debate was our last debate for the term but we are all very excited to return to debating in Term 3 and continue our winning streak!”

Well done to our Primary Debaters!
