Art competition for aspiring young artists

Art and Design Prefect and Year 12 student Francesca Harrison is calling on students to submit their artworks into the Inner West Young Creatives Art Award.

The Inner West Young Creatives Award is an art and writing award open to young people aged 12 to 24, who study, work or live in the Inner West council area.

This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring artists to have their work showcased in a real gallery environment and cash prizes are on offer.

The competition opens on 1 April, closing on 31 July. The exhibition will be held at Chrissie Cotter Gallery in Camperdown.

Art Awards

Art entries should be submitted as photographs of an artwork (drawing, painting, photography, collage, sculpture) or digital work which was inspired by an item from the Inner West Libraries collection.

Writing awards

Entries for the writing award (short story, fan fiction, poetry, review or prose fiction) must be in response to an item from the Inner West Libraries collection. Writing submissions have a limit of 1,000 words.

Art and writing entries can be inspired by any media from the Inner West Libraries collection. Please click here for a list of eligible media.
