On Monday 1 September, our Year 9 and 10 Chinese students enjoyed an enriching excursion to the Chinese Garden of Friendship.
The day began with engaging cultural workshops, where students learnt traditional skills such as the Chinese waist drum and Chinese Diabolo. A guided tour of the tranquil gardens provided deeper insight into Chinese history and symbolism, bringing classroom learning to life in a vibrant setting.
The experience concluded with a visit to Chinatown for lunch at Royal Palace seafood restaurant for a yum cha, where students sampled authentic cuisine and explored one of Sydney’s most culturally significant precincts.
The excursion offered a unique opportunity for students to connect with Chinese language and culture beyond the classroom, further deepening their understanding and appreciation.
