Year 7’s Wild Encounter

Year 7 students recently enjoyed an unforgettable excursion to Taronga Zoo. As part of their visit, they took part in engaging lessons at Taronga’s Institute of Science and Learning, exploring the fascinating world of animal classification. From amphibians and reptiles to birds and mammals, students had the opportunity to interact with a variety of animals, deepening their understanding of the animal kingdom.

At the Institute of Science and Learning, our students experienced immersive learning environments that are the first of their kind in the world. These multisensory spaces, themed around rainforest, desert, and woodland habitats, provided authentic learning experiences that align with curriculum priority areas. The students were able to enter the habitat of animals and observe their natural behaviors, making the learning process both engaging and memorable.

A special thank you to Fabian Mandrini Acting Head of High School for accompanying the students and supporting this enriching experience.
