On Wednesday 3 September, Year 11 and 12 Chinese, French, German and Japanese students had the opportunity to meet and engage with students from the University of Sydney.
The visiting students, currently completing their Diploma of Language Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, School of Languages and Cultures, shared their personal journeys in language learning. They spoke about what inspired them to pursue their chosen language at university, as well as the exchange programs and overseas experiences that enriched their studies.
Our students particularly enjoyed holding informal conversations in the target languages and welcoming the visitors into classroom activities. With no formal presentations, the visit created space for genuine interaction and a meaningful exchange of ideas.
This valuable collaboration between the University of Sydney and IGS offered our students both inspiration and encouragement as they continue their own language-learning journeys.
We extend our warm thanks to Carolyn Stott, Senior Lecturer and Chair of Francophone Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, School of Languages and Cultures, at the University of Sydney, for making this visit possible.
