Trophies for IGS students in final round of ‘Hello Mandarin’ competition

Twelve students represented IGS at the final round of the 'Hello Mandarin' Recitation Competition

On Sunday 18 June, the seventh ‘Hello Mandarin’ Chinese Recitation Competition for Primary and High School Students NSW was held at the Teachers Federation Conference Centre – a competition jointly organised by the Sydney Recitation Arts Group and the Chinese Language Teachers Association of NSW. A video of the competition was compiled and shared with us here.

This competition encourages students to learn Chinese and aims to improve their self-confidence in public speaking. A huge congratulations to the winner and participants of this year’s Hello Mandarin:

— Justin Shu (Year 5), Vicky Chen (Year 3), Maroun Aydin (Moony) Bacha (Year 1), Adrian He (Year 1), and Wanying (Alice) Luo (Year 1) won the third prize for their age group,
— William Camarsh (Year 2), Henry Ren (Year 1), Sidney Lin (Year 1), Max Wang (Year 1) and Ari Gould (Year 1) won the second prize for their age group,
— Claire Shu (Year 3) won the first prize for their age group,
— Sarina Ximei Thomas (Year 3) won the Champions award.
