Team IGS walk, run and dance in Mothers Day Classic

Decked out in pink, Team IGS made a big impact at the recent Mothers Day Classic

On Sunday 14 May over 90 members of Team IGS participated in the Mothers Day Classic to raise money for breast cancer research.

The team walked, ran, jogged, and even danced their way around the Mothers Day Classic 5/10km course which began in the Domain, wrapped its way down Macquarie street, then down to Mrs Macquarie’s chair and back.

“It was a gorgeous morning with perfect weather. Our team was dressed in pink and wore our special Team IGS MDC visors. As a school, we have now raised over $24,000 and counting with donations staying open until the start of June,” said IGS PTF President Hayley Dean.

“We have a number of families in the school currently affected by Breast Cancer, including a member of our teaching staff who was recently told by her doctor that research is getting incredibly close to finding a way to not only detect the Breast Cancer gene, but to eradicate it! And IGS – we helped to make that happen!! What a wonderful community we are,” Hayley concluded.

Special thanks to all who participated and to those who worked so hard behind the scenes, particularly to PTF Vice President Jessie Chung for all her hard work in getting the team together.

There is still time to donate to the Team IGS efforts. You can make a donation here.
