Relationships in focus at ELC Orientation

The IGS Early Learning Centre has welcomed parents and carers to our campus for Orientation for the first time in three years.

Head of School Early Learning Sarah Herbert extended a very warm welcome to all the parents and carers whose children will be starting their IGS journey in Early Learning in 2023.

Parents and carers joined an information session in the school hall, followed by visits to our classrooms and meeting Early Learning Teachers.

Classroom doors were open for the event, and for the next three weeks, children commencing in the Centre next year will be invited to Orientation Play Sessions on Tuesdays from 10am to 11am.

Sarah shared her excitement that the three-year-old children starting at IGS next year will become the graduating class of 2037!

“For many here today this could be the next step of 15 years of education for your child, perhaps embarking on lifelong friendships into primary and high school,” she shared.

“We are delighted to be able to connect with new parents, carers and children taking part in the Early Learning Centre Orientation Program in this way, on campus, meeting together in person.

Early Learning recognises that enrolment and orientation procedures form the foundation for strong relationships between families and early education and care settings and promote a quality experience for children and their families.

“We value respectful and supportive relationships with our families as the basis of a smooth transition and quality outcomes for children in the service. Our quality enrolment and orientation processes seek to promote these relationships,” Sarah said.

“We aim to ensure that our enrolment and orientation processes meet the unique needs of each child and family.

“This will support them during their transition to the Centre, help to develop collaborative partnerships, and promote a sense of belonging to the IGS community.”

We’re next looking forward to a series of three Orientation Play sessions with our 2023 new enrolments. Our new starters will join us for indoor and outdoor developmental play sessions on Tuesdays 25 October, 1 and 8 November from 10am to 11am.

There are limited vacancies for new enrolments for 2023. If you are interested in enrolment for your child, or perhaps a friend or family member, please get in touch with the IGS Admissions Team.
