On Thursday 28 August, our Year 7 Geography students participated in an educational field study excursion to Manly Dam, facilitated by Auseco. This hands-on experience allowed students to explore the natural environment and engage directly with the geographical features they’ve been studying in class. From trekking rugged bush tracks and crossing the impressive 19-metre-high dam wall to investigating freshwater creeks, students gained valuable insights into real-world geography.
The excursion was a memorable and enriching part of the students’ learning journey, and they relished the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature, apply classroom knowledge to real-world environments, and develop important fieldwork skills while exploring the diverse landscapes and ecosystems of Manly Dam.
Thank you to Jodie Blacker Head of Year 7 for organising this enriching experience for our Year 7 students, and to all teachers who supported their journey on this day.
