On the Move

It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks in Primary School Sport, with our students representing IGS across a range of competitions and preparing for upcoming events. From state-level championships to inter-school matches and Athletics Carnival training, our young athletes continue to demonstrate incredible teamwork, determination and school spirit.

NSWPSSA Basketball Championships

Last week, Year 6 Margot R played at the NSWPSSA Basketball Championships. Her team placed 1st place after the Pool stages of the competition and progressed to the Semi Finals. Unfortunately, they were narrowly beaten by Sydney East and ended their run in the tournament. Margot thrived in the high-level competition, showcasing her skill, determination and teamwork while connecting with players from across the state. Margot’s coach said her court vision and selfless playing style were beautiful to watch. We’re proud of her efforts and look forward to following her promising basketball journey – this is just the beginning for Margot!

Year 5 and 6 Sport – Soccer Inter-Schools

Every week, students represent IGS with pride and enthusiasm, playing their best each week!

CIS Cross Country Carnival 2025

Twelve students represented IGS and ASISSA at the NSWCIS Cross Country Carnival held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre on Thursday 12 June. The event took place on a beautiful and challenging course, providing the ideal setting for an exciting day of competition.

Our runners gave it their all, demonstrating grit, determination and outstanding sportsmanship in the face of strong competition from across the state. Each student rose to the challenge and made our School Community incredibly proud.

Congratulations to our competitors, your commitment and enthusiasm were truly inspiring!
