IGS is thrilled to announce some fantastic news about one of our talented young artists. Max Wang, a Year 2 Green student, has been named a finalist in the prestigious Young Archie 2024 competition . This year, over 4,000 artworks were submitted and Max’s exceptional piece was one of just 70 selected as finalists. This remarkable achievement highlights Max’s incredible talent and dedication to his craft.
Max was a finalist for the 5-8 year olds category with the painting My Mum. “I chose my mum to depict in my portrait. She is wearing glasses and she loves travelling. I love my mum”, shares the young artist.
The Young Archie finalist artworks are displayed at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Young Archie honourable mentions will be displayed at the SH Ervin Gallery, alongside the Salon des Refusés, from Saturday 8 June until Sunday 8 September 2024 and are free to view. The winners will be announced on 27 July.
Congratulations, Max, and good luck in the final!
