On Friday 15 August, Hensley Athletic Field hosted the Kindergarten to Year 2 Athletics Carnival. The sun was out, providing perfect conditions for a day of racing and field events.
Students took part in 100m sprints, 50m hurdles, turbo javelin, shot put and long jump. Novelty events included hurdles, baton relay, sack races, rescue relay, egg and spoon and the Olympic flame relay.
The Carnival provided an opportunity for our younger students to build physical confidence, develop motor skills and explore a range of athletics activities, laying the foundation for future participation in competitive sports. It was also fantastic to see our Primary School house leaders supporting and guiding the younger students throughout the day, demonstrating great leadership.
Thank you to the Junior School PDHPE staff for organising the Carnival and to all staff for making sure the day ran smoothly.
