Indigenous Literacy Foundation Great Book Swap

On Tuesday 15 May the IGS Bibliothèque will launch a Great Book Swap to raise funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF).

The Great Book Swap is a fantastic way to celebrate reading locally and learn more about Indigenous languages and cultures, all while raising funds for the ILF.

To participate, students are asked to bring in books from home that they no longer want, and donate them to the book swap. Then, on their designated Great Book Swap day, students will be able to browse donated books, select a favourite and swap it for a gold coin donation.

The Bibliothèque will be accepting donations of books from Monday 7 March until Monday 14 March. Students are asked to drop books off at the Bibliothèque from 8am on their way to class for the day.

All funds raised will go to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation which will use the proceeds to fund a variety of community based literacy programs. You can read more about the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and their mission on their website.

In addition to raising funds via the Great Book Swap, tax deductible donations to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation can be made via the IGS fundraising page. Any support you can offer to help us reach our target of $1,000 will be accepted with gratitude.
