In the gardens of Early Learning

IGS early learners have been enjoying learning about sun safety and plants.

This term the children in Early Learning are getting excited about the great outdoors.

“We have been identifying plants, discussing whether they are indigenous or introduced species, and whether or not they are edible,” said Deputy Head of Early Learning Victoria Kirkwood.

The children always apply sunscreen and put their hats on before heading into the garden, to examine the plants around them, and make sure they are thriving.

“Michelle Tenkate has been exploring water play, using water wisely and watering plants too,” said Victoria.

Some of the plants have been brought inside the centre, where the children have been taking care of them and excitedly watching them grow.
