Happy International Mother Language Day!

IGS applauds this day to raise awareness of language, cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world.

On Tuesday, IGS students celebrated the linguistic and cultural diversity at our school as part of the globally observed International Mother Language Day.

At IGS many of our students and staff speak a language other than English at home.

To mark the occasion our wonderful (and clever!) Year 12 students made this video sharing what languages they speak at home (and school).

International Mother Language Day, which falls annually on 21 February, has been recognised by the UN since 1999 and is a day to raise awareness of language, cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world.
