The Primary School Reconciliation and music assembly rounded out the week with a celebration of the ensemble’s progress.
Highlights included the Year 5 Keyboard Percussion Ensemble performing Handclap, an interactive musical experience that got the audience involved and had the front row kindergarteners testing their percussion skills.
Led by Ms Buggy, the Year 5 strongs demonstrated their range of abilities, plucking and playing their way through Muck! Accompanied by Mr. Parker and Mr. Scott Year 5 guitar followed with vigour playing a throwback, April Sun in Cuba by Dragon from 1977.
The Year 5 continuers took the audience in an American direction playing back to back, Kick-Start by James Swearingen and The Crawdad Song, a Traditional American Folk Song all conducted by Mr. Bruce.
Finally everyone was in for a special IGS surprise! A group of the Mamma Mia! Cast from Primary School and some special visitors from the High School sang a selection of songs. In anticipation of the Musical which is next week, the entire school is quickly learning the words to some ABBA classics.
