IGS is planning to compete in the Mock Trial for 2023. This competition provides a team of Year 10 and 11 students with practical experience into the running of a court case in a true-to-life adversarial setting.
Our coach is unavailable next year, so we are putting the call out to the school community for anyone working in the legal system who might be interested in coaching the team next year. The coach’s role is to guide students through the case and direct them to its key aspects.
We would need the coach to be able to come to team meetings at school once a week for two weeks before each round. There are four rounds in total across Term 1 and 2, with more if the team progresses. These meetings are usually held from 4pm to 5.30pm, but lunchtime meets could be arranged.
If you or someone you know may be interested in coaching the team, please contact Humanities Teacher Gareth Douse at email@example.com for more information.
