Book Week 2025 is well underway at IGS, with activities across the School highlighting the joy and importance of reading.
This year’s national theme, Book an Adventure, has encouraged students to explore new worlds through stories and to see reading as a gateway to imagination and discovery. The Bibliothèque has been transformed into a world of wonder with hot air balloons, suitcases packed for adventure, magical fairies floating in bookshelves and a tent where students can tell stories and use their imagination.
The week has included Author talks, colourful parades in the Early Learning Centre, and the chance for Years 7 to 9 to visit and support our local bookshop, Gleebooks, choosing books to add to their own collections. Inside the Bibliothèque, students have been taking part in a variety of small activities, each offering a taste of adventure.
The celebrations continue, with the Primary School and ELC parades still to come, as well as a visit tomorrow from Jenny Ellis, which promises to add even more excitement to the week.
Book Week has once again shown the strength of reading culture at IGS, connecting students across all year levels through books, imagination and community.
We thank our Bibliothèque team for their commitment and hard work in bringing this celebratory week to life.
