Book Week 2025

Book Week 2025 has come to a joyful conclusion at IGS, with activities across the School highlighting the joy and importance of reading.

This year’s national theme, Book an Adventure, encouraged students to explore new worlds through stories and to see reading as a gateway to imagination and discovery. The Bibliothèque was transformed into a world of wonder with hot air balloons, suitcases packed for adventure, magical fairies floating in bookshelves and a tent where students could tell stories and use their imagination.

The week featured Author talks, colourful parades across the Junior School, and the chance for Years 7 to 9 to visit and support our local bookshop, Gleebooks, choosing books to add to their own collections. Inside the Bibliothèque, students also enjoyed a range of activities, each offering a taste of adventure.

Parents and carers turned out in large numbers for the Junior School Character Parades, with costumes and smiling faces bringing the week to a memorable close.

Book Week has once again shown the strength of reading culture at IGS, connecting students across all year levels through books, imagination and community.

We thank our Bibliothèque team for their commitment and hard work in bringing this celebratory week to life.
