A fond farewell to Irina Braun

Congratulations to Irina Braun, who will take up a new appointment as the Head of Languages at Kambala in the new year. Ms Braun will conclude her tenure at IGS at the end of this year, following a period of long service leave this term.

Ms Braun has made a remarkable contribution to IGS over two decades, where she showcased her exceptional teaching skills, leadership qualities and unwavering support for her colleagues.

Starting at IGS in 2003 as a French and Spanish teacher, Irina’s leadership was quickly recognised. She held the role of High School Studies Coordinator from 2010 to 2018 and, in 2019, took on the position of Head of Teacher Accreditation for the High School, offering invaluable support to our educators in their pursuit of higher levels of accreditation. Additionally, she has been an HSC marker, serving as Supervisor of Marking for HSC Spanish in 2017 and achieving the position of Chief HSC Examiner for Spanish Beginners in 2021.

Irina has been a dedicated contributor to IGS throughout her tenure, working tirelessly to enhance the academic environment, always with the warmest of smiles and the best interests of our students in mind.

While we will miss Ms Braun greatly, we are delighted by her new appointment and wish her every success in her new role. We appreciate and value Ms Braun’s contribution to our School and students, and will bid her a fond farewell at our end of year staff thank you lunch.
