Learn more about the enrolment application process

Read our enrolment policy and information about submitting an application.

Enrolment Application

An Enrolment Application electronically signed by both parents/guardians is required to place a child’s name on the waitlist. During the application process you will be asked to upload a copy of the child’s birth certificate (and passport/visa details for non-Australian citizen students). School reports are required for children applying for Year 1 onwards.

Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of $220 (per child) must be paid at the time of application. Applications can only be processed with the application fee and required documentation.

Offer of Enrolment

All offers will be made in writing by the Principal, and will be accompanied by a contract of conditions to be signed by both parents/guardians and returned to the Admissions Office. Enrolment will be confirmed in writing once the signed contract has been received along with payment of required enrolment fees. Generally, three weeks is the given period in which a response must be received before the offer is withdrawn and offered to the next child on the waitlist.

Enrolment Fees

Non-refundable enrolment fee $1,750 (per child)
Fee deposit* $1,200 (per child)
Fees in advance Equal to one-third annual fees

*Fee deposit is refundable when the child leaves the School, providing the required amount of notice is given (as indicated in the School Fee Schedule).

Exceptions to the above: Students entering Preschool require a non-refundable enrolment fee of $750 (per child), a fee deposit of $1,200 (per child) and one-third annual fees in advance. For students transferring from Transition to Kindergarten, the remaining non-refundable enrolment fee of $1,000 is required and the previously paid fee deposit of $1,200 will be rolled over.

Overseas Students

Although the School’s name suggests it could be a place of learning for international students, International Grammar School primarily provides teaching and learning opportunities for local Sydney students with a strong interest in languages and intercultural understanding.

IGS has the mechanism to accept overseas students, however, due to current demand from local families, the School only accepts overseas enrolments in very special circumstances, on a case-by-case basis.

Please note, the School does conduct a robust Exchange Program with established partner schools in France, Italy, Germany, China, Spain and Noumea.
