Learning Through Nature’s Lens

Year 5 Outdoor Education Camp

This week, our Year 5 students embarked on an outdoor education camp designed to challenge, inspire and connect. Set across the stunning bushland of Kangaroo Valley and the coastal beauty of Stanwell Tops, the camp provided the perfect backdrop for adventure and discovery. Over several days, students took part in activities such as archery, mountain biking, orienteering, swimming, hiking and the exhilarating giant swing. Each experience encouraged students to step beyond their comfort zones, fostering resilience and strengthening collaboration and problem-solving skills.

The camp reflects the broader learning approach at IGS, where education extends beyond the classroom to nurture confidence, independence and a strong sense of community. These qualities are central to our commitment to holistic education, helping students grow personally while developing skills that will serve them well in future learning.

Thanks goes to all the Year 5 Home Class teachers and staff who supported and cared for the students throughout the camp, ensuring they had a safe, enjoyable and enriching experience.
