Over the past few months, the children in Garrawan have shown a strong interest in creating their own stories and books. Last week, a small group of children gathered to create a cooperative story; this is a process where children are first given a prompt, and then take turns to each add their part to create a narrative.
From this experience, the children developed their work of fiction The Mysterious Adventures of Judy, Goldflower, Tigey and Rider. This week, the children extended their own learning by creating puppets of their characters and performing their narrative to the rest of the class.
Through storytelling, puppetry and play, the children continue to build confidence and creativity together.
