270 guests came together for the inaugural Year 6 Graduation Dinner, themed Oh, the Places You’ll Go, celebrating our students’ graduation from the Junior School. Held at Doltone House Darling Island Wharf with the Sydney skyline as a striking backdrop, students, families and staff came together to enjoy dinner, celebration and dancing to honour the special milestone.

Dressed for the occasion, students danced the night away, captured memories in the photo booth and enjoyed a delicious show-stopping cake specially created by IGS Alum and Head Boy Orlando Read adding a sweet highlight to the celebrations.
Principal Shauna Colnan told our graduates, “our theme “Oh, the places you’ll go” captures exactly how we feel about you — full of confidence, full of pride, and full of excitement for everything waiting for you just beyond the horizon.”
Emcee and Deputy Principal Junior School Sarah Herbert expressed “the night was about celebrating the student’s journey through their Junior School years and a moment to dream about their incredible futures and next steps into their middle school years”.
Parent Tim Bishop delivered the Acknowledgement of Country while Sue Chrysanthou spoke about the parent experience. Year 6 students Chloe and Xavier spoke on behalf of their peers to thank their school for the journey so far.
As Dr Seuss reminds us, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” The night was a joyful send-off into all the places they will go.
