Miranda Heeney and Finn Millsteed had the honour of performing the Australian and American National Anthems at the 2026 AmCham Alliance Awards Gala, held at the ICC Ballroom on Thursday 15 October.

Performing before distinguished guests from the Australian and American business communities, the students delivered an outstanding performance, demonstrating musical sensitivity, confidence and professionalism. Singing together, they balanced the melodic and harmonic roles beautifully, creating polished and moving musical tributes that celebrated the close ties between Australia and the United States.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for International Grammar School to be profiled on a prestigious international stage, showcasing the exceptional talent of our students and the strength of our commitment to an education enriched by the Arts. The evening’s compere also highlighted IGS as a beacon of Arts Education, recognising the important place of music and creative expression within the fabric of our school.
At IGS, music is much more than a subject or a performance opportunity; it is a universal language that connects people, cultures and communities. The students’ performance was a wonderful reflection of this belief, demonstrating how music can bring people together across national boundaries and create a shared moment of connection.
We congratulate both Miranda and Finn on their excellent performance and thank them for representing International Grammar School with such distinction. Their contribution was a proud moment for our school and a wonderful celebration of the power of music to unite and inspire.
